Can You Use Zoom on Your Phone Without the App?

Yes, you may be able to join a Zoom meeting from your phone’s web browser, although the options you see depend on your browser, device, and the meeting’s settings. Open the meeting link and look for a “Join from Your Browser” option; if the page only prompts you to install or open the app, browser joining may not be available for that meeting.

If the invitation includes a dial-in phone number and meeting ID, you can call the meeting from your phone without installing Zoom or using a browser. This is an audio-only option, so you won’t see shared screens or participants’ video, and ordinary calling charges may apply depending on your phone plan and the number provided.

Try your browser first if you need video or a shared presentation but don’t want to install an app, and allow microphone or camera access only if you plan to use those features. If the browser route doesn’t work and audio is enough, use the invitation’s dial-in details; if you need the full mobile meeting experience, installing the Zoom app is usually the more straightforward choice.

Zoom meetings and camera zoom are different things: magnifying your camera image will not help you join a meeting without the Zoom app. If you’re also comparing how phones handle magnified photos or video, our Understanding Phone Zoom Quality: A Complete Guide to Phone Camera Zoom Quality Explained covers that separate topic, while our guide to using Zoom on your phone without the app focuses on meeting access.
